Many hands make light work

In the Junior League we don’t just raise money – we get our hands dirty. Our purpose is educational and charitable. We reach out into the community and together we make it a better place for everyone.

With each large grant given, the JLGEC commits our volunteers in support of the receiving agency but that is not all we do. We take on small projects, done-in-a-days, that are just what their name implies – small projects that need extra hands to be completed.

Our helping hands reach out monthly at the Community Free Kitchen to cook and serve lunch. We also began the Hunger Challenge at the Food Bank of the Southern Tier and participate every year, challenging other agencies to re-pack as much food as we do. Both vital services that dedicated volunteers can complete in a day or less.
